About Us

Fastball St. Albert used to be known as St. Albert Softball. We changed our name back in 2004 to reflect the style of pitch and the pace of the game. We offer organized fastpitch softball in both recreational and competitive leagues. Those leagues are named "City" and "Representative" respectively.

The city league is comprised of co-ed teams in every division and is tuned towards recreational fastball. The rep league is for those who wish for a greater challenge of competitive fastball. At the rep level, the pitching is fast and the play is intense but fun. In the City league, a player likely won't see 55 mile-per-hour pitches. The play is significantly slower than rep, and the emphasis is on skill development. Players at the youngest age groups start with soft underhanded pitches, and slowly work their way up to the harder throws.

Fastball St. Albert plays a short two-month season, from May to June, and we usually try and hold a winter skills training camp for those players who wish to develop their skills over the winter months.

As with most non-profit associations, there are no paid positions on our board of directors for Fastball St. Albert. Every board member volunteers their time and some don't even have kids playing ball. Now that is dedication! Even the words you are reading right now have been written by a volunteer. We have some vacant positions that need to be filled. We encourage anyone who has a passion for the game (or not) to help us and consider joining our great team.
